Work for 1st & 2nd Class Mon. 27th April - Fri. 1st May

Hi there to all parents and children in first & second class!

I hope you have been finding the work I’m setting manageable. It has been so lovely to see/hear from some of you the last week on Seesaw. If you have any questions for me or would like me to take a look at your work please connect with me via Seesaw, I would be more than happy to hear from you. Seesaw is a great way to be able to keep in touch with each other so please feel free to post pictures/videos to me! 

I am asking the students in my class to continue on another week of their regular work. This consists of:

• English:
  • Continue practising your 3 sentences each day in your copies.
  • This week’s sentences for 1^st class are:
    •  They enjoyed the trip.
    •  The fly was annoying the boy.
    •  His toy car had a crash.

• This week’s sentences for 2^nd class are:
  • 
    
    • 1. She ate pears with honey.
    • 2. I cannot bear the way he swears.
    • 3. The orchestra wears orange.

• Jolly Grammar pg. 56/57 - corresponding with sounds in sentences
• Continue half a page of handwriting each day (Mon - Thurs)

• Reading:
  • 1^st Class Finn’s Dream pg. 16- 30 (3 pages a day Mon – Fri)
  • 2^nd Class Poems pg. 61- 64 (Back of class reader)
  • 2^nd Class The Grumpy Teaspoon pg.4-6 & pg.8-10 (First Day Back for Jack & Making Pictures Move)

These stories have accompanying activities on pg.7/11 – if your child is looking for more work please give them a go – otherwise just reading the stories is satisfactory.

  • Work it Out Week 29 (Mon - Thurs)
  • Tables for 2nd class are revision of +1/+2/+3
  • First class can begin tables +1 & +2

• Parents please feel free to test your child's spellings/sentences/tables if you wish at the end of the week.

This week I am including a small game with this post for fun. It is “Fitness Snakes And Ladders”, just like the traditional game but with an exercise to do on each square you land on. I will include the game template and instructions.
