The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch

23rd Apr 2021

We really enjoyed reading “The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch” this week. Mr & Mrs Grinling came up with a cunning plan to keep the scavenging seagulls away from Mr Grinling’s special lunch. During English lessons (OL & writing) the children also concocted their own clever plans to keep the pesky seagulls away! If 1st/2nd class had their own way there would be, without a doubt, some creative & unpleasant surprises awaiting those seagulls!
For Art this week, we created our own lighthouses. We used a variety of textures & materials including sand, cotton wool and paint.
The children were surprised to know that they were well aware of what a sea shanty was - they were all able to sing along with a popular one we hear on the radio.
