September in 3rd/4th Class

8th Oct 2020

This past month has been an incredibly busy month in the 3rd/4th class classroom! All thirty-one children have settled back into school life and have adapted to the ‘new normal’ with incredible ease!

A lot of the month was spent revising work in English and maths but we also made time to study ‘the Stone Age’ in history and ‘plants and animals’ in geography and science. These are subjects of huge interest to the children and so it hardly felt like work at all!

We made the most of the beautiful September weather and walked/ran the walking track on many an afternoon. We also did a nature walk and found a rabbit’s burrow among other things. Art, mindfulness and quiet reading time have also been a big part of our daily routine as we made the adjustment from home to school after almost six months away.

We are all delighted to be back in school and look forward to a busy and productive school year!
