Golden NS Pyjama Day to Raise Mental Health Awareness

26th Nov 2021

Today was our November Mental Health Awareness Day, which we marked with a whole school pyjama day. With the toy show on tonight, we thought we would get into the spirit early by leaning in and embracing comfort and relaxing weekend vibes all day long.

Focusing on things we enjoy and things that bring us comfort is a great skill to develop which helps us build resilience when faced with things that we may find difficult or that cause worry.

With winter drawing in around us, days like this act as a beacon of light, hope and fun that we can focus on and get us all in the spirit for the season of good will and kindness that is just around the corner.

Some classes capitalised on the theme with Christmas tree decorating, dancing to Christmas songs or watching a movie with their classmates. In the Infant Room the kids were inspired to make cards of thanks and good wishes too, for our student teacher, Ms Morrissey, as it was her last day.

As it was also a Non-Uniform day, each child was encouraged to donate money towards our Christmas Charity fundraising appeal. The proceeds for today’s donations will also be added to December’s Non-Uniform day. Acts of generosity are an easy way to show kindness which not only benefits those we give to but makes us feel good about ourselves too; a win-win for all concerned!

Well done to all for getting into the spirit of things, today. We look forward to our next Amber Flag event in December.
