5th & 6th Homework June 7th

7th Jun 2020

Hi to everyone in 5th & 6th!

I hope you all enjoyed the Water Safety course and may find it beneficial in the coming months as we head into the summer. I hope you did your best to be as active as possible in your free time this past week and got plenty of exercise. Try to continue with the Activity Log this week and maybe change it up by including some different exercises and sports. I'm going to post another activity log at the bottom of this page where you must set your timer to 100 seconds and see how many of each of the listed exercises you can do. Maybe try to beat your own record every day as the week progresses and improve your fitness levels. You could even challenge one of your family members to take part and see who gets the highest score. Either way, have fun as you become fitter and stronger.

This week we will focus on Farm Safety which is such an important topic at this time of year. Many of you will be frequent visitors to farms or may live beside one and as you all know, summer is an extremely busy time on farms and unfortunately, accidents are all too common.

By studying the links on Farm Safety, you will be better equipped to become more aware of dangers, therefore ensuring your own safety and that of whoever is in your company. in The first part of the unit that I am posting, you are asked to think of 5 safety hazards on a farm (page 2), assess the risks and then think of ways to prevent them from occurring. The template allows you to fill it in if you wish to do so.

The second part of the unit focuses specifically on Electrical Safety on the farm. You are asked to study the 8 images and describe how each risk can be addressed to prevent an accident occurring (pages 3 and 4) of the document. I hope you all enjoy this lesson and find it both interesting and informative.
