Standardised Testing
Our Micra-T Reading and Sigma-T Maths standardised testing resumes after a rare absence last year due to our school closure. Testing will be completed on weeks beginning 08th and 14th June 2021. It would be wise to consider the extraordinary circumstances your child has had to endure during this pandemic when reviewing their STEN results.
School Tours
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, our normal Junior School Tour and Senior School Tour are cancelled for this year. However, our 5th class are partaking in a River Suir Project on Tuesday, 15th June followed by a local nature walk to Athassel Abbey thereafter. Furthermore, as it’s their final year in Golden N.S., 6th class are visiting Castlecomer Discovery Park on Friday, 18th June. A letter to inform you of further details will be sent home with your child in advance.
End of Year Reports
End of Year Reports will be completed and sent by post to be delivered on Friday, 18th June or on Monday, 21st June at the latest.
Sports Day
An extensive Sports Day will take place on Monday, 21st June.
Graduation Ceremony
Our 6th class Graduation Ceremony will take place on Tuesday 22nd June in Golden Church at 11:30a.m. Parents/Guardians only are invited to attend. Wearing of face masks and keeping socially distant is mandatory if attending on the day.
Conclusion of Academic Year 2020/2021
School closes at 12:30p.m on Wednesday, 23rd June.
Confirmation 2021
Confirmation Day for 5th & 6th class is on Saturday, 17th July at 11:00a.m. Parents/Guardians and each child’s sponsor only are invited to attend on the day in order to keep numbers in the church to a minimum. Wearing of face masks and keeping socially distant is mandatory if attending on the day.
Communion 2021
Our Communion ceremony is postponed for this academic year. It will most likely take place in September/October upon return to school after the summer holidays.
